About Aryn

Aryn Youngless is a Los Angeles-based genealogist and author known for her social media posts encouraging people to research their family history with free resources. You can hear her on the Big Blend Radio and TV podcast,  Turned On: Wild, Free & sexy in your Midlife, The Totally Legitimate Business Podcast, and GenX Stories, where she discusses the importance of genealogy and family history research, stressing how they help us better understand who we are and where we come from, especially in a world where history is often rewritten and people feel disconnected.

By uncovering our roots, we preserve unique family stories, strengthen our sense of identity, and build bridges between generations. Ultimately, knowing our family history grounds us, connects us to others, and gives us a deeper sense of belonging in uncertain times.

Aryn has written creativity for more than fifteen years and is a published author. Plus, she has also  created multiple Genealogy Workbooks designed to help people capture, organize, and record their family’s history. These titles include: The Genealogy Journal; KIDS Genealogy Notebook; My Mom. Her Life.; & My Dad. His Life.

Aryn also has experience working as a writing coach, critique partner, and beta reader. She enjoys assisting other writers in achieving their writing goals. Her name can be found in the acknowledgement sections of books like: Jaimal Yogis' "CITY OF DRAGONS", Bethany Crandell's "SEE JANE SNAP," & Roselyn Teukolsky's "A RELUCTANT SPY," among others.

She has co-hosted A local writers' critique group and taught "how-to-write" sessions. Besides creative writing, she has also helped to produce two short films

Aryn created the From Research to Novel: Using Genealogical Research to write Creative Nonfiction and Historical Fiction Novels, where she helps writers discover how to use genealogical research to write accurate and engaging manuscripts.

Currently, Aryn is working on her own family history, using a mixture of traditional research and genetic genealogy, in the hope of answering her own family history questions, and is in the process of editing a historical novel using her methods of research taught in the FRTN Series.

For her nonfiction work, visit Spring Heeled Jack Media, a publishing company she started with her son. To learn more about her fiction writing and Writing Coach Services, head to AS Youngless Author, where she works to help people organize their thoughts, ideas, memories, and histories in order to draft and write their personal/family memoirs.
